MiFID II and SME growth markets: a new category of markets to facilitate access to capital for SMEs
The Level 2 process for MiFID 2 and MiFIR (together MiFID II), which are expected to come into force by the beginning of 2017, is under way.
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has issued a consultation paper that includes its proposed advice to the European Commission on designing the requirements that will be set out in Level 2 measures and will govern the new SME growth markets that MiFID 2 proposes.
