Hong Kong’s Privacy Commissioner forges ahead with new direct marketing provisions
Direct marketing — which is essentially mass marketing via email, text messages, mail, etc — has been an area of focus for the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data for some time now. The Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO) was amended last year and the direct marketing provisions will take effect on 1 April 2013.
