Fast-track procedure for oppositions from UK Intellectual Property Office
The UK Intellectual Property Office has introduced a fast-track procedure for oppositions. This is in addition to the standard opposition procedure, which will continue in force.
The aim is to provide a faster, cheaper way for trademark owners (in particular small and medium-sized enterprises) to protect their trademarks.
Key features of the procedure include the fact there is a reduced official opposition fee (£100 compared with £200 for standard opposition)….
