European Commission communication on long-term financing of the European economy
On 27 March 2014, the European Commission published its communication to the European Council and the European Parliament on ‘Long-term financing of the European Economy’. The paper follows the commission’s green paper on the same subject, which was adopted on 25 March 2013. In its communication, the commission proposes a broad range of initiatives that are designed to provide that the financial system channels its resources towards long-term investments.
