Employment in the Balkans: recent news highlights — June 2012

A greater proportion of non-nationals working in the Republika Srpska now no longer need to obtain a work permit. The Law amending the Law on the Employment of Foreign Citizens and Persons without Citizenship has recently increased the number of non-nationals that do not need to obtain a work permit. In the RS, foreigners with a permit for permanent residence in BiH, foreigners with ‘approved international protection’ in BiH, and foreigners with ‘approved temporary protection’ are now free to work without first obtaining a work permit. 

Collective Agreement for the Agriculture and Food Industry in the RS has been scrapped. At its gathering on 18 November 20112 The General Assembly of the Association of Employers in the Agriculture and Food Industry of the RS have scrapped the Branch Collective Agreement in Agriculture and Industry in the RS. Negotiations to conclude a new collective agreement are expected in the upcoming period…
