Data Protection Update — January 2014: Google

In its October bulletin, Stephenson Harwood commented that the UK, Spain, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands would soon be following in France’s footsteps to impose their own sanctions for Google’s failure to bring its new consolidated privacy policy in line with national data protection legislation. The Spanish Data Protection Authority has now taken that step by fining Google a total of €900,000 (£745,000)…
