In January 2012 Vince Cable announced proposals for change in the arena of executive remuneration. In a speech to the Social Market Foundation and in a written ministerial statement, Dr Cable indicated that the Government would proceed on four fronts:
- Greater transparency;
- more shareholder power;
- reform of remuneration committees;
- best practice led by the business and investor communities…
