In December 2012, the Government laid the Building Regulations (Amendment) Regulations 2012 and the Building (Repeal of Provisions of Local Acts) Regulations 2012 before Parliament. The Building Regulations (Amendment) Regulations 2012 set out a number of amendments to the Building Regulations 2010, including to Parts M, K and N and local authority building control processes.
The Regulations come into force at the various dates listed in Schedule 1, with many of the changes already having come into force from 9 January 2013. The Department for Communities and Local Government has indicated that its aim is for deregulatory changes to come into force in April 2013 with provisions which have a regulatory impact coming into force in October 2013…
