BIRMINGHAM firm Martineau Johnson has launched an Automotive Group in celebration of the centenary of the UK car industry.
The group, which brings together lawyers from different disciplines with expertise in the motor sector, will provide a specialist service for the industry.
Members will deal with issues including trade marks, design rights, dealer franchising and the conflict between property rights and free trade.
Geraldine Tickle, who heads the group, said: "Martineau Johnson has had a long involvement with the motor industry. The car industry throughout the world faces consumer demands for cheaper, better cars coupled with a need to keep production costs down. Innovation will continue to be important with ever-changing environmentally-based standards as well as consumer led demand for new-look cars.'
