Freshfields' Giles Clifford and Zoe Lowe from Ewart Price were the fastest male and female solicitors respectively in the 137-strong Wilde Sapte City of London Road Race last week. Money raised will go to the Helen Clelland Appeal.

The pair were the first male and female solicitors across the line in the three and a half mile race. The fastest barristers were Alistair Lindsay, of 4 Raymond Buildings, and Alda Cable, of Clyde and Co.

The overall winner was Chris Beecham from publishing company Legallease who finished in 16 minutes 20 seconds.

Wilde Sapte senior partner Mark Andrews, who started but did not run in the race, said he was delighted with the turnout at the charity event which last year raised £33,000 for cancer research.

The money raised will go to the Helen Clelland Appeal which contributes money to breast cancer research.

Clelland a paralegal with Fremont & Co was actively involved in fund-raising aspects of the 1996 City of London race but died shortly after from breast cancer.
