Brick Court forms Polish partnership

Top commercial set Brick Court Chambers has formed a partnership with a Polish law firm to increase its access to multinational clients.

Leading EU law silk David Vaughan QC is flying to Warsaw to meet a team from top firm Wardynski & Partners to discuss how the two parties can work together to get the cream of European clients.

The relationship will be the most formal of its kind, and will be based on the pair's common interest in EU law. Brick Court is one of the leading sets specialising in European issues.

Poland is seeking entry to the community, and the country's largest companies have to tackle competition issues. Wardynski & Partners feels it will be more attractive to clients with Brick Court on board.

Ian Moyler, senior clerk at Brick Court, says: "If you look at the way industries there have been broken up over the years, they have got many issues relating to competition.

"The English speaking advocates are regarded as the finest in the community and it's recognised that we have the leading community law advocates here."

Moyler describes Wardynski & Partners as "the equivalent of the Slaughter and May or Linklaters of Warsaw" and adds that the firm's multinational clients are in on the talks to ensure they get the best representation before the European courts.
