North West stalwart Brabners Chaffe Street is celebrating an 11 per cent hike in profit, with an exceptional performance in the firm’s Liverpool office.

Brabners saw average profit per equity partner rise to £260,000 from last year’s £235,000, while turnover grew 14 per cent, from £15.4m to £17.5m.

The firm’s corporate and commercial property departments in Liverpool both came in well above budget, with the corporate team up 30 per cent from 2004 and property up 22 per cent.

Meanwhile, the rest of Brabners also performed strongly, with managing partner Michael Brabner saying that the firm has been constantly busy.

“It’s been pretty consistent across the board,” said Brabner. “Liverpool is a particularly strong market. We’ve been attracting a lot of good work; we’ve got to make sure that we can keep the success going.”

Brabner said that his focus for the next year would be on recruitment to help maintain the standard of the work being carried out. In October the firm hired Hammonds assistant Ian Hardman as a partner to head up the construction department in Liverpool.
