Brabners Chaffe Street has helped Liverpool FC bolstered its midfield with the transfer of Javier Mascherano from West Ham United.
Brabners’ sports partners Edward Canty and Matthew Bennett cleared the way for Argentine star Mascherano to join Liverpool despite FIFA and Premier League rules barring the transfer.
In January, the player received a special dispensation from football governing body FIFA to play for his third club this season, despite two clubs being the maximum.
The UK Premier League then suspended the transfer while it investigated the contractual arrangements between Mascherano and the two football clubs.
The Brabners team managed to convince the Premier League to clear the transfer on the eve of Liverpool’s Champions' League match against Barcelona tonight.
Brabners’ other sports clients include Liverpool’s bitter rivals Manchester United. Brabners’ senior partner Maurice Watkins is a non-executive director at United and has been involved with the club as chief legal adviser for decades.
