Private client firm Boodle Hatfield has hired an LG tax and private capital partner.
Karen Marks will join as a partner and act for clients such as offshore trustees, private banks and financial institutions, and high net worth individuals.
She told The Lawyer, “I had a terrific opportunity here to build the tax department,” adding that Boodle Hatfield’s private client practice is of a very similar size and equal standing to LG’s.
Marks joined LG, then known as Lawrence Graham, in 1999. She was promoted to the partnership in 2003.
She has also been an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (ATII) since 1998, and is a member of the International Tax Planning Association.
Head of Boodle Hatfield’s tax and private client practice, Sue Laing, said: “Karen adds a further dimension to the firm’s international private client tax planning capabilities, and we look forward to the contribution that she will make.”
