City firm Edward Lewis organised the burning of thousands of pirated Dollargrand bags after they were delivered up to avoid a copyright action reaching court.
Alexander Carter-Silk, an intellectual property partner, supervised their destruction at a north London incinerator. He advised Dollargrand when it complained that the British Shoe Corporation was copying and selling them.
The defendant paid damages and handed over the merchandise. Dollargrand has donated part of the damages to charity.
