Slaughter and May’s best friend firm in Italy, Bonelli Erede Pappalardo, has suffered a rare partner walkout, with leading structured finance partner Alberto Del Din joining Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker in Milan.
Del Din will join Paul Hastings along with Bonelli London structured finance partner Lorenza Talpo and Alessandro Stoppa, an in-house lawyer at investment company Babcock & Brown focusing on project finance and real estate.
Before joining Babcock & Brown, Stoppa was a senior associate at Bonelli. Del Din and Stoppa will join Paul Hastings as partners in the Milan office, with Talpo joining the London office as a partner.
Seth Zachary, chairman of Paul Hastings, said: “Alberto is one of the leading finance lawyers in Europe and is an excellent addition to Paul Hastings.”
Bonelli also lost five partners to Latham & Watkins at the end of last year. The team included leading banking partner Andrea Novarese (TheLawyer.com, 26 November 2007).
