Bonelli Erede Pappalardo litigation partner Luca Radicati di Brozolo is leaving the firm with an associate to launch a litigation and arbitration boutique.
Luca Radicati di Brozolo
Radicati di Brozolo joined Bonelli in 2001, having previously worked in the office of the legal adviser for the Bank of International Settlements in Basel and as a partner at Chiomenti Studio Legale.
He is setting up a boutique with senior associate Michele Sabatini. The duo have been working together for several years on major arbitration cases, including representing Italian bondholders against the Republic of Argentina in two International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Dispute (Icsid) cases.
Radicati di Brozolo has been based in Bonelli’s Milan office while retaining control of the firm’s London litigation desk.
As well as advising on international litigation and arbitration, Radicati di Brozolo is also experienced in competition law matters.
The name of the boutique is not yet known. The duo will launch it in October this year.
In a statement, Radicati di Brozolo said his departure occurred “on the friendliest of terms and the relationship with Bonelli remains solid”. The statement added that the move was intended to avoid conflicts of interest.
Last year Bonelli partner Andrea Carlevaris became secretary-general of the International Chamber of Commerce Court of Arbitration, the first Italian to land the role (16 May 2012).
Bonelli is going through a generational shift at the moment, having recently elected two managing partners amid a raft of structural changes to the firm (22 May 2013).
