Bonelli partner lands key role at ICC International Court of Arbitration

Carlevaris replaces outgoing secretary general Jason Fry, who is returning to his former firm Clifford Chance (30 January 2012). Fry will leave the court on 20 July this year.

The court’s deputy secretary general Jose Ricardo Feris will act as interim secretary general until 1 September, when Carlevaris will officially take up the role.

Carlevaris has had a long association with the ICC court, working as a counsel there between 1999 and 2003 before joining Bonelli. He became a partner in the firm’s Rome office in 2010. He has represented Italy as a member of the court for the past four years.

Court president John Beechy welcomed Carlevaris, adding in a statement: “Jason has set the bar very high and I’m confident that Andrea will be more than equal to the challenge.

“He brings with him from private practice, in which he has excelled, the same mix of client service ethos and case and personnel management skills that has been a hallmark of Jason’s tenure. He’s well respected and, equally importantly, very well liked.”
