It's not often Tulkinghorn can say this, but some news of a genuinely heroic nature reached Tulkinghorn last week from Berwin Leighton Paisner. It was in the form of an email circulated by corporate finance partner and partnership board chairman Peter Robinson, to 'everyone', entitled "Adrian Rough" (one of the firm's backroom unsung heroes).
It stated: "Many of you may not know about Adrian's act of heroism. Yesterday Adrian heard cries for help coming from the river and spotted a woman being dragged down-river by the current.
"Adrian immediately dived in, went to her rescue and brought her safely back to the steps going down to the river underneath London Bridge. Subsequently the woman was taken to hospital by ambulance. Adrian, a wonderful act and we are all proud of you!" Indeed.
