This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
The City law firm has upped salaries for those with one year’s post qualification (PQE) experience from £66,000 last year to £70,000.
Meanwhile, second year PQE has jumped by 4 per cent to £75,000 and third year PQE by 5 per cent to £82,000.
This puts BLP on a par with mid-market competitor Olswang at the second year level, but nudging slightly past at three year’s PQE. As reported on www.thelawyer.com today (12 May) Olswang has upped its third year PQE salaries to £81,000.
At BLP trainee and newly-qualified rates are expected to be announced from next month.
To date Shearman & Sterling is the firm that is digging deepest in its pockets - surpassing rivals to pay one, two and three year PQEs £84,000, £92,000 and £104,000 respectively.
