The salary growth rate for BLP's trainee solicitors was much faster than at the NQ level, with first-year trainee solicitors seeing a rise of 12.12 per cent to £37,000. Second year trainee solicitors have seen salaries increase by 11.11 per cent to £40,000.
Other mid-market firms to increase NQ rates recently include Olswang, which backtracked on an earlier pay freeze to offer an increase of 2.4 per cent to £63,500 (The Lawyer, 11th June).
