Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) is looking to bulk up its finance client list with the hire of former Barclays banker Peter Harvey as a consultant.
Harvey, who was previously vice-chair of UK banking at Barclays, is to take up the part-time position for an indefinite period on 1 October.
He will work with head of finance Simon Allan (pictured) to develop relationships with banks, private equity houses and corporate organisations.
Allan said: "Peter is a renowned industry authority with a wealth of experience. Having someone with his knowledge and experience will assist us in providing our clients with strategic advice and allow the team to develop a better understanding of the issues that matter to our banking and corporate clients."
BLP currently acts for Barclays and Royal Bank of Scotland, although The Lawyer understands that Harvey will not be assisting on the Barclays relationship.
Harvey's experience at Barclays includes working as chief executive of UK business banking, as group services director and managing director of larger businesses.
