Osborne Clarke has suffered another blow in London with the loss of private equity partner Geraint Lloyd to Berwin Leighton Paisner. Lloyd counts among his clients the Close Brothers Group, for whom he works across several divisions on private equity-backed M&A transactions, development and venture capital and real estate funds, and Matrix Securities. Commenting on the recruitment, David Collins, head of corporate finance, said: "We are delighted to have persuaded Geraint to join us. Geraints practice represents a significant building block in our strategy of building up our institutional private equity business, and his funds work is highly complementary both to our existing leading position in the real estate funds market as well as our rapidly growing business in the hedge funds arena." At Osborne Clarke, more than 20 partners have left since January 2002, many of them managed out as the firm battled with falling profits.
