BLP bolsters Singapore with Watson Farley hire

Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has hired Watson Farley & Williams’ Asia corporate head for its Singapore office.

Ken Cheung, who has been at Watson Farley since 2000 and a partner since 2004, joins BLP’s Singapore office today. Cheung advises on corporate and commercial transactions, M&A, disposals and corporate restructurings, particularly in relation to the transport, energy and media sectors.

In September, The Lawyer reported that BLP had hired partner Kent Phillips from Addleshaw Goddard for its Singapore base. Before leaving, Phillips had been earmarked to launch Addleshaws’ Singapore office (27 September 2011).

In November 2010 BLP hired a team of lawyers from Holman Fenwick Willan in Singapore, including partner Alistair Duffield (15 November 2010), who now leads BLP’s office there.
