Hermes’ director of corporate finance and specialist funds, Alasdair Evans, said the appointments follow a beauty parade focusing on service levels and fees.
Evans commented: “We are delighted to appoint two of the leading real estate law firms in the UK, strengthening existing relationships we already have with both firms.”
Hermes Real Estate, which until last year was known as Hermes Property Asset Management Limited, is the asset manager for Hermes Pension Management. It believed to have an annual legal spend in excess of £4m.
Hermes’ other property subsidiaries, MEPC and Argent, are advised by Linklaters and Lovells respectively.
