BLP adds talent to non-contentious finance team

Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has hired a Pinsent Masons partner to boost its non-contentious financial services practice.

Jacob Ghanty has a background in the retail, trading and insurance sectors, and has worked for clients including Axa, Barclays Bank and HSBC. Prior to joining Pinsents in 2007 with a regulatory brief he was at Eversheds.

BLP financial services group head Sidney Myers said: “Regulation’s an increasingly important issue for all financial institutions, with tighter controls, additional regulation from Europe and major changes to the regulatory framework. Jacob’s hire will allow us to providemore support to these clients as they engage with regulators.”

This comes as BLP brings on board DLA Piper head of financial services Daren Allen to lead the contentious side of the practice.

Pinsents was unavailable for comment.
