Berrymans Lace Mawer (BLM) has made its first office opening outside the UK with a base in Dublin.
It is the first major expansion for the firm under the leadership of Mike Brown, who was elected senior partner in March (27 March 2012).
The firm said the new team, which is expected to grow significantly over the next three years, will initially comprise 12 lawyers and claims handlers with a partner leading the practice.
BLM said the Dublin office would give it the opportunity to further develop relations with current clients which also have a base there.
In a statement Brown said: “Our business is driven by the opportunities we develop with our clients. The Irish legal market is facing significant developments and our clients expect us to be alongside them, supporting their objectives.
“We have a strong vision of where we want to be in five years time and extending the jurisdictions we work with clients in is an important aspect of our strategic vision.”
