Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (BLG) has promoted a record eight of its associate directors to the partnership, with all but one being made up in London.
The new partners, who will take up their new posts on 1 May, are the first associate directors to be made up since the new management position was introduced last year (The Lawyer, 25 June).
Richard Dedman, BLG senior partner, said litigation took the most new partners with five of the promotions in the practice group.
Disputes spans the firm's professional, financial, insurance and reinsurance. The other three appointments cover corporate, pensions and commercial technology.
Dedman added: "This is a record number of new partner appointments for us which reflects both the talent we have and the exciting growth we are experiencing across the firm."
Hong Kong-based corporate associate director Pádraig Walsh was the only new partner to be made up outside of London.
