Thames Valley firm Blandy & Blandy posted a healthy turnover increase of 10.6 per cent, with gross fees rising from £5.2m to £5.75m. The performance of the firm’s financial services department, which offers independent financial planning advice for personal and commercial clients and was started from scratch two years ago, was the key to the growth. Employment had an impressive year with a revenue hike of 30 per cent. Company and commercial was also a strong performer. Underpinning the firm’s performance was a focus on existing clients such as Wembley, Connexions and Reading Borough Council. The firm, which will be 275 years old in 2008, plans to convert to LLP status within the next 18 months.
