Blake Morgan and Pinsent Masons are among 10 firms to have won places on Oxford City Council’s external legal panel.

The framework will provide legal services to 11 public authorities and councils and follows a growing trend of local authorities banding together to reduce their legal costs.

The new panel will cover Oxfordshire County Council, Oxford City Council, Cotswold District Council, the Royal Berkshire Fire Authority and a number of other local authorities.

Blake Morgan commercial partner Penny Rinta-Suksi led the firm’s bid for a spot on the panel. She said the panel would help the firm to “forge new relationships” while “cementing” those it already had with authorities now on the panel.

Joining Blake Morgan and Pinsents on the panel are Berwin Leighton Paisner, Bevan Brittan, Bond Dickinson, Browne Jacobson, Darbys Solicitors, Dentons, TLT and Veale Wasbrough Vizards (VWV).

The framework follows on from the recent news that the Welsh Government had announced the line up to its £60m national legal framework. Bevan Brittan, Blake Morgan, Browne Jacobson and VWV also won spots on the panel, which covered both North and South Wales for the first time.
