Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons has hired an ASB Law family partner and an assistant to launch a family practice in London.
Fiona Wilson joins from ASB Law in Maidstone and is joined by associate Irpreet Kohli from her former firm Vizards Wyeth and her personal assistant from ASB.
Wilson said she had just been with ASB for 11 months and had moved because she wanted to return to London.
"I just realised as soon as I was [at ASB in Kent], I missed London and the buzz," she said. "Everything happens up here far more than I anticipated: there is far more interesting work, far more people to meet and a far more interesting and varied market."
"If you don't take the opportunity to come back to the city when opportunity comes along," she said, "you will miss out fairly quickly."
She hopes to grow the family practice at Blake Lapthorn to slot into the firm's private client services to offer them a full service.
Wilson's previous firm ASB Law is currently going through a consultation period after the decision to close its Brighton and Horsham offices and to consolidate them into Crawley (near Gatwick) and Maidstone (in Kent) respectively.
