Bird & Bird's Little migrates to Kemp & Co

Top IT firm Kemp & Co is celebrating its first year in practice by poaching lawyer Jonathon Little from Bird & Bird.

Managing partner Richard Kemp says: “Jonathon's arrival significantly builds our capability in our core commercial and regulatory practice area.”

The appointment of Little, who joins the niche IT and communications firm as a partner, caps a successful first year in practice for Kemp & Co.

Its first year billings were 60 per cent ahead of budget at u830,000 and, having started with only one lawyer, it now has nine fee earners.

Kemp & Co has attracted several blue chip clients.

The firm acted as European counsel on its first European ATM telecommunications network procurement and for FTSE International on a range of commercial legal matters.

Founding partner Kemp is one of the top names in IT law. He was intellectual property/IT European service line head at Garretts before setting up on his own.

Kemp says that Little's appointment was fuelled by client demand and that the firm is actively looking to expand its corporate, employment and litigation resource this year.
