Bird & Bird IT partner Simon Shooter has advised De Beers in his first major deal for the diamond giant since joining the firm from Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (BLG) a year ago.
Shooter joined Bird & Bird along with fellow BLG IT outsourcing partners Christian Bartsch and Chris Holder in December 2006.
Shooter advised De Beers' sales and marketing division, the Diamond Trading Company (DTC), on two technology projects with Unisys UK and Atos Origin, working with DTC head of IT Jeremy Newell and De Beers' in-house legal team.
Unisys and Atos Origin were advised by their in-house teams led by Miguel Videjma and Giles Naylor respectively.
