BIRD & Bird's Hong Kong office has recruited a senior partner from leading domestic practice Victor Chu & Co.
Head of corporate David Richardson is joining the specialist IT firm as a partner, and will focus on developing its corporate capability in Asia. He is dual-qualified in UK and Hong Kong law.
Richardson has been with Victor Chu for 13 years and has worked on a range of China-related deals. He specialises in initial public offerings, M&A, asset swaps and debt restructurings.
Hong Kong managing partner Matthew Laight says that Richardson's corporate experience in Hong Kong and China, will boost the firm's ability to provide a full service within its specialist IT sectors, which include e-commerce, biotech and media.
Hong Kong is Bird & Bird's only Asian operation. It currently has five partners and six assistants.
