Bird & Bird has recruited Linklaters tax partner Christian Luthman to launch a tax practice in Sweden. Despite the loss of its co-head of international tax Trevor James to Morrison & Foerster, as revealed in The Lawyer (19 September), Bird & Bird has continued to build its tax practice across Europe. The firm has also hired Pierre Gueret in France from the Office of Tax Legislation. Luthman said that he was aiming to build the practice in Sweden and across Europe.
