If the staff canteens of City firms do little to excite your imagination – or your tastebuds – then you could do worse than apply for traineeship at IP specialists Bird & Bird. A burlesque club, called Volupté, has opened underneath its Chancery Lane office.
Despite the club’s strict no-nipple policy, the management at Bird & Bird has taken exception to Volupté and complained to the landlord about the change of use of the property. But Kuki La-Belle and Delores von Cotier, the club’s co-owners, are determined to get lawyers into the erotic den, which offers a range of dishes and cocktails for lunch and dinner.
“We’re both surprised and saddened by Bird & Bird’s reaction to Volupté,” Cotier told Lawyer 2B. “We’re without doubt a perfect place for corporate events and client meetings and would welcome them.”
And, for you impoverished students, Volupté is free every night except Friday and Saturday.
