Bircham cuts 15 jobs at end of second consultation

Bircham Dyson Bell has completed a second redundancy consultation, which has seen 15 jobs cut at the top 80 firm.

The review, which was launched in mid-March, led to the loss of five fee-earner and 10 secretarial and support staff jobs.

Corporate and real estate were the practice areas which were most affected, according to a spokesperson.

This brings the total number of job cuts since the start of the downturn at the firm to 19, following the loss of four jobs in 2008.

Meanwhile, Manchester-based Pannone has launched a second redundancy consultation with 35 members of staff, including one partner. This follows 14 job cuts at the firm last year, the majority of them in the residential conveyancing department.
