Birchall Blackburn

UK 200 number: 178

North West firm Birchall Blackburn turned over an estimated £10m in 2011–12, a three per cent increase on the firm’s £9.7m revenue the previous year.

Birchall Blackburn’s practice is broad, covering conveyancing, personal injury, commercial and overseas property, as well as equity release schemes, matrimonial and family, wills and probate, litigation and insolvency. It also has a dedicated overseas property service.

One of the firm’s most significant moves during the last financial year was its merger with established Chorley firm Kevill Kirkham & Grayson in 2011, which retained its branding for its legacy office.

In 2012 Birchall Blackburn made two hires from DWF, bringing in family and matrimonial lawyer Gillian Graveson in Preston and legal executive Janet Palmi in Penwortham and Preston. Meanwhile, family lawyer Sally Abrams relocated from Preston to Leyland. Last year also saw the firm hire Paul Tyrer from Midlands firm Bowcock & Pursaill as its corporate and commercial head.

Birchall Blackburn has offices in Preston, Manchester, Southport, Formby, Penwortham, Chorley and Morecambe.
