North West firm Birchall Blackburn re-entered The Lawyer’s UK 200 at the latest year-end with a turnover of £9.7m. Turnover has ­increased significantly since 2008-09, when the firm last appeared and when turnover stood at £8.2m.

Birchall Blackburn has a broad practice base best known for its personal injury group, which generates a significant chunk of income. A ­particular focus is advising consumers on ­overseas property moves.

The firm has seven offices across the North West, with bases in Preston, Manchester, Southport, Formby, Penwortham, Chorley and Morecambe.

Birchall Blackburn is keen to remain a local practice with a commitment to publicly funded criminal and family work. The firm handles a considerable amount of childcare work, with a significant crossover between crime and family work.
