Bingham promotes three to Tokyo partnership

Bingham McCutchen has continued its Asian investment programme with the promotion of three new lawyers to its Tokyo partnership.

Finance and transactional lawyers Kenji Hirooka and Ryota Sekine will be joined in the partnership by labour and employment lawyer Takaharu Matsumura.

The Tokyo office has been given a further boost with the arrival of New York-based corporate partner Brian Beglin and Connecticut-based financial restructuring partner Mark Deveno.

Bingham’s Tokyo base now has 70 lawyers, the majority of whom are Japanese qualified.

The office specialises in domestic and large-scale, cross-border financial restructurings, M&A, financial regulatory and employment matters.

Bingham chairman Jay Zimmerman said the promotion of the new partners is testament to the firm’s commitment to Japan and the wider Asia region.
