Bingham McCutchen is gearing up for a slew of global office moves, in a campaign that rivals Clifford Chance's record-setting spate of relocations in the summer.
On 5 December, the Boston-based firm will officially move to 32,000sq ft premises at 41 Lothbury in London, more than doubling the space currently available at 99 Gresham St.
It has also conducted the largest law firm lease transaction in the US so far this year, signing a 15-year agreement for a new 320,000sq ft headquarters in Boston last week. The new offices at One Federal are 80,000sq ft larger than its present HQ.
The Washington DC office will also be doubled to 70,000sq ft when the firm moves to the top two floors of 2020 K Street in February 2006. Meanwhile, a two-year renovation of the San Francisco office will increase space by 25 per cent.
The moves follow those of Clifford Chance, which leased five new premises in Europe and Asia over the summer, in addition to its landmark moves to Canary Wharf and Manhattan over the last two years.
