US firm Bingham McCutchen has strengthed its New York office by hiring a restructuring partner from Willkie Farr & Gallagher.
Steven Wilamowsky has joined Bingham’s Financial Restructuring Group as a partner in its New York office.
Restructuring specialist Wilamowsky has advised on Chapter 11 cases on behalf of creditors, asset purchasers and debtors industries, including retail, energy and telecommunications.
Bingham’s New York managing partner Robert Dombroff said in a statement: “Steve is a highly respected young partner poised to become one of the future leaders in his area.”
As reported reported on thelawyer.com (13 December), last month Bingham acquired the entirety of Sakai & Mimura, a 22-lawyer corporate boutique in Tokyo, continuing its push into Asia.
The tie-up gave Bingham vital M&A and restructuring capability in Japan.
In Tokyo the firm has the unwieldy title of Bingham McCutchen Murase Gaikokuho Jimu Bengoshi Jimusho Sakai & Mimura Houritsu Jimusho.
