Bingham McCutchen has scooped a three-partner team from Morrison Foerster (MoFo) for its New York office.
The three-lawyer team includes the former head of MoFo’s New York financial transactions group Mark Joachim. He joins along with partners Katherine Weinstein and Sandra Lee Montgomery into Bingham’s bank, commercial and structured finance group.
Joachim and Weinstein will be based in the New York office, while Montgomery will be in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
Robert Dombroff, managing partner of Bingham’s New York office, said: “The addition of Mark, Katherine and Sandra is a perfect fit with our existing practices. Their arrival underscores Bingham’s continuing growth strategy in New York.”
Bingham’s New York operation has been on a hiring spree over the last few months. It has added 20 lawyers since September.
Recent hires have included hedge fund lawyers Robert Leonard and Michael Mavrides from Bryan Cave and former New York County assistant district attorney Daniel McGillycuddy, who joined the white collar crime and business regulation group.
Samuel Turvey, former director of compliance of Morgan Stanley’s individual investor group, has also joined Binham’s broker-dealer practice group.
