Bevan Brittan to outsource the work of 75 staff members
Bevan Brittan is in talks with business process outsourcing (BPO) company Intelligent Office UK in a deal that will see 75 support staff transferred out of the firm.

The move comes as the firm faces growing financial pressures in its core public sector markets.
Bevan Brittan’s CEO Andrew Manning said the firm’s clients wanted a service provided at “cost effective” rates, adding: “To achieve this we must ensure that each area of our business is operating at optimum efficiency.”
The firm said all back office administrative staff were likely to be transferred to Intelligent Office UK by 1 December.
Earlier this month Irwin Mitchell unveiled plans to transfer 81 support staff to BPO provider OCS as it looked to streamline overhead costs ahead of its conversion to an alternative business structure (17 October 2011).

The way the market is heading - a sad state of affairs for the proffession as a whole, have seen the view from an outsourced perspective - is there no loyalty left anywhere?

We call it "gulagging". It was Stalin's idea to send "unwanted workers" to Siberia, remember? Dear Mr. Manning
your comment above that the "firm's clients wanted a service provided at 'cost effective' rates," they did not mean the rates of Bevan Brittan's staff, they meant cost effective rates of the lawyers. Amen.

Seems funny how Andrew Manning, Chief Executive of Bevan Brittan ran a range of outsourcing businesses prior to moving into legal five years ago. Maybe Bevan Brittan should outsource the Chief Executive position that way Bevan Brittan would save themselves a fortune!!!
