Bevan Brittan has hired a regulatory partner with experience acting for the SRA as the regulator gears up to announce the results of its latest prosecution panel.
Peter Steel will join Bevan Brittan as a partner in its regulatory team. He joins from Capsticks, where he made partner in 2009. Previously, Steel was an associate at Mills & Reeve and before that he was principal legal advisor at the General Medical Council.
In a statement, Bevan Brittan’s commercial dispute resolution department head Adam Kendall said: “[Steel’s] experience is a perfect match for our team and will enable us to pursue further opportunities with other legal services regulators including the SRA and in providing advice to regulated entities including health bodies and local authorities.”
The news comes as the SRA looks set to soon announce the results of a review of its prosecution panel, where it picks firms to help it prosecute lawyers and others firms in relation to Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal hearings.
