Bevan Ashford has accelerated its push into London with the appointment of two new partners in the space of a month.
Former Tarlo Lyons litigation partner Peter Moody, who specialises in IT, technology, retail and leisure disputes, joined the firm last Monday. Meanwhile, Pinsents banking and tax associate Christine McElroy is quitting her old firm to join Bevan Ashford as a partner in Birmingham. McElroy will divide her time between Birmingham, London and Bristol. It is understood that her hire was motivated by the firm’s desire for a tax capability to provide support to its corporate, property and private finance initiative practice.
The hires will take the number of partners in the firm’s London office to 12 and come soon after the appointments of former Partnerships UK lawyer Simon Moore and banking partner Philippa Chadwick, who joined the firm from Denton Wilde Sapte last year. Former Masons construction duo Alison Cooksley and Simon Foggarty are also set to join the London office in the coming months.
The NHS Litigation Authority and the Depart-ment for Education, which are both key clients of the firm, are based in London.
