Bespoke LPC wins Law Society validation

The Law Society has formally validated the first ever firm-specific LPC devised by Linklaters and the College of Law.
It is hoped this will pave the way for the college to pioneer similar firm-specific LPCs with Allen & Overy and Clifford Chance - the two other firms leaving the City LPC consortium to work exclusively with the college from 2006.
The customised training will be aligned to the types of transaction carried out by the firm and the course will be integrated into Linklaters’ own training programme for trainees and qualified staff. It has also emerged that Linklaters partners will participate in course-related activities to give students the chance to hear directly from their future colleagues.
Linklaters trainee partner Simon Firth said: "Its validation is clear recognition of what we have always believed, that the closer to real practice and the more realistic training is, the more effective it will be."
