Berrymans Lace Mawer (BLM) has hired two partners from Bristol firm John A Neil Solicitors to launch its office in the city.
Partners Andrew Lawson and Rebecca Shafto will be based in BLM’s Bristol office but will fall under the management of BLM’s Cardiff senior partner Matthew Harrington.
Shafto specialises in catastrophic injury work and Lawson on commercial claims, with a particular emphasis on defending health and safety prosecutions following work incidents
The BLM outpost will open on 1 April and initially will focus on catastrophic injury claims and personal injury work.
Last month, Irwin Mitchell unveiled its intention to open in the city in a bid to build its client base across the South West and West (16 February 2010).
Meanwhile, CMS Cameron McKenna plans to treble its Bristol headcount to 150 within the next five years (26 February 2010).
