Belfast firms merge to reap peace dividend

BELFAST litigation firm Harrison Leitch & Logan is merging with one of Ulster's oldest practices, Galway McIlwaine & Seeds.

The new firm, to be known as Harrison Leitch & Logan (incorporating Galway McIlwaine & Seeds), will combine corporate and private client departments with a strong litigation base.

It will be based at Harrison Leitch's current premises in Belfast city centre, which will be expanded to accommodate the new staff.

Harrison Leitch partner Boyd Logan, who will be senior partner of the merged firm, says: “The commercial scene here in Belfast is showing signs of recovery, and it goes beyond green shoots.

“There is a feeling of optimism. If the ceasefire becomes permanent we are hoping for a boom. Inward investment should increase, partly because the workforce here is so good.”
