Salans has taken a team from KPMG Beiten Burkhardt's St Petersburg office
The departures from Beiten Burkhardt are the latest to follow the merger of the Munich-headquartered firm with KPMG's German legal arm at the start of the year. Russian-qualified Artem Zhavoronkov, a banking and finance specialist, is joining Salans as a partner designate prior to a formal partnership vote. He brings with him Russian-qualified corporate associates Natalia Safronova and Mikhail Borodin. The defecting team made up half of Beiten Burkhardt's St Petersburg office, but partner in charge of the office Thomas Heidemann has hired two associates since the departures.
